Dolce far niente in Locarno

Directly in front of the enchanted, wildly romantic hotel garden of Villa Novecento are the city of Locarno, Lake Maggiore and countless sights.

The Mediterranean ambience of the Ticino town is already apparent when you linger comfortably in one of the numerous restaurants on the lakeshore. An espresso in hand, watch the hustle and bustle on the lake promenade and enjoy. Dolce far niente - sweet idleness.

There is plenty to do in and around Locarno. Therefore, off to the island. Even the boat ride to the Brissago Islands is impressive and picture-perfect. The subtropical climate and the 1700 or so plant species make it possible to take a botanical trip around the world in this extraordinary garden.

For those who like it higher up, the aerial cableway takes you to the middle of the fascinating green landscape of Cardada in a short time. From there, the chairlift takes you to Cimetta, where a breathtaking 360-degree panorama of Lake Maggiore and the surrounding mountains and valleys awaits.
