Nestled in the idyllic landscape of Mariastein, the Klosterhotel Kreuz offers soothing peace, relaxation and inspiration. The former 17th century pilgrims' hostel is just a few minutes' walk from Mariastein Abbey - ideal for time-outs, seminars and special occasions.
The hotel dates back to a pilgrims' hostel built in 1648, which was rebuilt after a fire in 1673 and extended between 1676-1682 in the typical cross shape. In 1935, the house was taken over by the Franciscan nuns and run as a spa hotel. After careful renovations in the 1990s, it now presents itself as a historic yet modern hotel. Since 2018, it has borne the name Klosterhotel Kreuz with the cozy restaurant Klosterschenke am Kräutergarten.
The hotel has an impressive medicinal plant and herb garden with around 200 plant species. It was created in the 1990s and has been maintained and renovated with great dedication since 2019. The Klosterhotel Kreuz combines nature, history and hospitality to create a special place of tranquillity - perfect for relaxing, recharging your batteries and working creatively.
